June 2, 2007 at 4:31 am #221378Remember to go to Site->Template manager->Module positions to add new module position named ‘ja-news’ . After that, set your JA News module position to ‘ja-news’.

June 3, 2007 at 3:08 pm #221432Hello, I had the same problem. I added the new module position and know I can see ja-news but it is under the main content. I want to put it always in the top of the page over the first content and then display everything else, exactly as the live demo of quillaja. Can anyone help???

After I find similar problem to locate above the main content, I find a simple and stupid way to resolve the problem by simply going to download a quickstart pack and reinstall the whole Joomla with it: 😉

I am suprising appreciated with the superb professional template. After I have finished most of the job to replace my content with the sample contents, I go to turn off the SEF. To make the link URL not so strange with the sample content text.
However, problems arise then. The whole mod_janews module repeated on the bottom of all content pages. :((
I then rush to turn on the SEF to see if things return as original. But sorry that the original nice site gone. Now every content page comes with al the stuff brought by the mod_janews module.
Try scroll down to the bottom of all pages (a few examples below) and you would see the module content repeating on all pages:
http://retractable-banner-stands.com/roll-up-banner-stand/retractable-banners.html
http://retractable-banner-stands.com/scrolling-banner-stand/motor-scroll-rolling-banners.html
http://retractable-banner-stands.com/roll-up-banner-stand/replaceable-graphics-cartridge-banner.html
Just a few examples. In fact, all have problems! Strange! This template is the best Joomla template I have ever seen! Hope the developer could debug it soon, so that everyone could enjoy this excellent professional template.
June 3, 2007 at 10:00 pm #221440I got mine working in the banner position.
June 4, 2007 at 8:42 pm #221498Further to the above bug report, I observed one more point which hope the developer team could consider.
I find that not only does the mod_janews displayed on all pages even the Menu Item Link has been set to mainmenu | Home only. (see attached pic)
The functioning of the setting of Menu Item Link seems to be failed to work for others modules. i.e. all modules displayed on all pages no matter how it is set.
Hope this observation helps dig out the bugs.
June 4, 2007 at 10:10 pm #221499This seems to be a recurring theme but having done everything suggested I have ended up with no JA-News showing at all – just a black bar where the module should be. This seemed to happen when I set #leading etc to 0 as suggested. There is no help on these parameters so basically changing them is a leap of faith.
Can somebody please provide some guidance as to how to get the effect in the live demo. This looks great and is exactly what everyone seems to want.

June 5, 2007 at 8:09 am #221514Hello to everyone, I am using ja-news module to post some things but I discover that the ja-news module posts the First page of the website, the frontpage! This is bad because in the first page I have an introduction welcome message (e.g. Welcome to Joomla) and this message is under to the ja-news module.
So when you visit my page in the first you see two same things…. I tryied to the parameters of ja-news to specify the categories, with the id but it still does it. I don’t want to display the first content…..
Can anyone help!!!June 5, 2007 at 3:32 pm #221533Go to “Content > All Content Items” and be sure to clear the Frontpage content items so that they all show a red “X” this should make the JA_news display where you want it.
June 5, 2007 at 4:32 pm #221534Okay so this thing is BUGGY  I was getting Frontpage content displayed then janews below like topic author. So I disabled all the Frontpage content and the mod displayed in the proper place only no headlines because the headline slideshow only displays Frontpage material. So I go back and enable some articles to display on the frontpage and it works as it should.

August 15, 2007 at 7:43 am #227106Go to Menu>Main Menu>Home, and on right site you can turn off the settings on the frontpage.Set the one below to 0 and press save. Then the ja-news should be at top
