Hi, I am using the Uvite template. I looked at the user guide, where the answer probably is, but I cannot connect the dots.

I have been looking at the demo content and trying to figure out how the module knows to display the front page article that it is displaying.

The article is set to demo section, demo category and article id is 46…When I look at the settings for the module…I do not see any of those specifications. The article is set to Front Page ‘Y’ is that all it takes and then I can put the article under whatever section/category I wish?

I would like to create a new section, category so that whoever will maintain the site will be able to determine where to edit and add to this area.

I just tested with setting an article to Front Page ‘Y’ and that did the trick… can I delete this .. I guess I will just mark as answered?
    Thank you.

Well you’ve only got half the answer…yes you do have to tell the article to appear on the frontpage. But getting the articles to the appear also requires that they be pulled in by the Janews modules.

    Open the mod_janews_fp module.

In the Module Parameters you will see “Group by Category or Section” as well as “Category (Section) ID” below it.

You need to determine which Category or Section news articles you want to show and make the settings match. Say your “Dummy” Category has ID 78…then you should check “Category” and enter 78 in the Category ID box.

There are a bunch of other settings available to you as well…but the above brings in the content.

You’ll find similar settings in the mod_janews module as well.

    Have fun!
    John.
