I didn’t know how to spell Joomla a few feeks ago, but I have somehow put together my Web site http://www.sustainablesuccessalert.com. I have a couple of minor technical hurdles to overcome and I was hoping someone might be able to guide me to the finish line. Please note that I am a complete beginner so I would be grateful if you could cover the basics in your response.
I used JA Teline II as my default template. As you can see, I have a gaping hole on the front page. I would like to place the mod_latestnews in this spot. The module is set to public access. But it doesn’t show up regardless of the position that I choose. I would like to list al of the articles in a particular month’s issue here (they are all classified as newsflash) . I am also happy to substitute another solution if you can think of one.
The news articles run across the page under the gaping hole. They are essentially all laid out the same: One large column going from left to right across the entire page. Does anyone know how to vary the number of columns and the direction of the articles (vertical vs. horizontal) lke in a newspaper?
Third, I am planning to copy the articles into an e-mail newsletter and send them out to clients. Does anyone have any good solutions for doing this?
Finally, I want to make absolutely certain that I have a rock solid procedure for backing up my entire site, preferably one where I could test future changes on a back up instead of the live site. Thank you in advance.
