It seems that JA News is one of the modules that has been updated here at Joomlart, and this is good because further improvements may then be integrated in existing templates that use the JA News, or for people who want to integrate the JA News in a specific template.

I am converting the JA News for example, to include more detailed news for differnt parts of the world, i.e., World, USA & Canada, Europe, ASEAN, Middle East, etc., etc, . However, apart from the News section, I want to use the “JA News Module” for the features part, and other sections, e.g., Travel, Health & Biomedicine, Science & Technology, etc., etc.

    Questions:

    1. How can the JA News be “replicated” (i.e., not just a duplicated), modified slightly and then renamed (let us call the new module, as “JA Features“) so that the modified module becomes a unique module on its own, and then uploaded as a separate module that could then be integrated in the layout of existing template?

This means that the JA News and the JA Features would be found on the same page –just in different locations and with their own independent control panels to modify layout specifications and contents.

    2. Is it possible to inactivate the “Headline” section of the module so that only the other sections appear?

    3. What needs to be done to then integrate the new “JA Features” module so that it may be placed below the “Photos” modules in the JA Teline?

This will mimic the lower part of the front page of New York Times, except the new “JA Features” module will have the clean layout of the “JA News” that wil span the entire width of the JA Teline template.

    Thanks.

    Cornelio
