I want to modify the Category Blog page called by the menu to not have the big picture showing and moving the text to the left.
Where is the Category Blog layout? Is anything special needed to modify its appearance?

In JA Argo, we overrided the Catelogory Blog layout in this /templates/your_template_name/html/com_content/category/ folder. Thus you see the home menu type – Articles >> Category Blog, instead of normal type Articles >> Featured Articles as many other templates.

In this case, you can modify the Category Blog layout vis this /templates/your_template_name/html/com_content/category/blog_item.php file.
