In this template, there is a position named ‘slideshow’ in that blue blocks as you mentioned. You can try to create a new module with type of Menu then assign to ‘slideshow’ position (if you don’t see it in list of position, you can manually add into that box) and select your appropriate menu to display in this new module.
Then clean JAT3 cache.

Remember to clean cache then.

width: 870px !important;
}

4: is number of featured artilces – displays in the red part as in your screenshot:
10: the total number of articles (red part + blue part) will display
