I use the onepage template and have a module that I call from a menu item but which I want, as an exemption, to open on a different Window and not on the one. The module is ProjectFork, a project management solution, mas a menu bar on its own and I dont want this listed down the but open a different window

I’ m just not certain how this can be done…

thanks, Nikos

You can assign different templates to different pages….

So.. I would apply the onepage template with all of it’s menus options etc. to your regular pages, then assign a different template to the Project Fork Pages. You can then customise the appearance of the two different sites using the template manager.

So just go into the template manager and assign the onepage template to your regular pages and assign the Project Fork template to the Project Fork Pages. All of the modules, menus etc can then be assigned to their respective pages.

thaks! but there is no “Project Fork” template to assign the module to it.

After the installation of the module I recevied a message saying that the module is assigned to a specific position and that i may need to change it in order to fit it well within my current template (onpage).

so there is where I am stuck…

OK I’m confused…
In your original post you said that you are calling the Project Fork module from a menu item.
Then why is there an issue with the menus on the module?

If it needs it’s own page with a menu on it, then I would create a blank page, assign the module to it – adjust your template assigned to that page to suit and then assign a menu item that directs you to that page.

You can have a module as a menu item in Joomla, but then it won’t be able to have it’s own menu on it, so you need to think through how the user is going to find and access that data.

Alternatively, your description says
the module is assigned to a specific position and that i may need to change it in order to fit it well within my current template (onpage).
.
From this I would assume that you’ve installed Project Fork and it’s assigned itself to Position XXX (or whatever). This message would seem to indicate that you need to go into the Module Manager and ensure that the position that your Project Fork Module has assigned itself is actually a valid position that is enabled in your template! I would be looking into your settings and making sure it comes up before spending too much time on trying to format it.

I’m not familiar with Project Fork, but don’t forget that within your Joomla site you can install a forum, online cart, or other module and these will exist within the structure of your overriding template. Your template will provide the overall style and structure (providing it’s supported) but the module will do it’s own work within the style of the template. You don’t seem to have access to a full range of templates, but I would recommend trying some others with different plugins install them on localhost using xampp and you can play an d tinker and investigate files to your hearts content – it’s a great way to learn!

At a quick look Project Fork is a component for Joomla so it should fully integrate with your site. You just need to learn more about how to get it to display within your Joomla Site and be confident that the css styling of Onepage will make it look consistent with the rest of your site.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
