Hi,

Did you enable Dynamic mode, this feature will dynamically detect whether or not you are on a K2 Category view/JA K2filter view and will display only options that replated with categories that selected for a page. That’s why you get the change of category as describe.
You can disable by go to Module backend >> In Mode set to Normal.
