    Hello,

I have created 3 menus linking to static content and they will not highlight when you go to the respective page.

I have tried reverting back to the original template CSS, removed the ‘-brick’ CSS class and moved them back to the left position but still they do not highlight.

I published the ‘User Menu’ placed it on the right and added the ‘-brick’ CSS class and when I go to ‘Your Details’ it highlights.

I tried copying one of my static links form the ‘Main Menu’ and then the newly created sub menu to the ‘User Menu’ but it will not highlight. I also tried creating a new static link to the “User Menu’ from the “User Menu’ admin page without any success.

Does the highlighting not work with static content? I am also using OpenSEF

This is very strange as it did seem to work in the beginning!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Mike

Do you have a url for me to take a look at?

Thank you for the quck reply.

Here is a page with two menus on it:

I have turned off the User menu that highlights but if you want, I can turn on the ‘Other menu’ created by the Joomla install if you think it would help.

    Okay,

I turned on the ‘Other menu” and placed it at the top of the right side. I also added the -brick class. Then I created a link to a contact person, created a NEW static link and copied a static link from the main menu.

The only link that highlights correctly is the contact link.

Go to the other menu module and check the settings on it and see if that helps out first.
    Full Active highlighting
    Enable Cache
    Show Menu Icons
    Menu Icon Alignment
    Expand Menu
    Activate parent

Per your instructions, I tried changing the settings for the ‘our services’ menu to ‘all on’. There is no change.

Funny thing… the ‘Other Menu’ had Full Active highlighting off.

I tried that too but it did not work either.

Why would contact highlight work but not the other two test menu items on the ‘Other Menu’?

So, after many hours of trial and error….

I deleted my menu, crested a new menu, copied the links form the main menu to the new menu. Now, out of the 5 links on the new menu 3 highlight and 2 don’t. On the 3 that highlight, the main menu (Trans Menu) does not highlight and on the 2 links that don’t highlight the main menu highlights.

Here is a page where the new menu highlights: http://www.home-theater-designers.com/home-automation.html
Notice the main menu under ‘Home Solutions’ the ‘Home Automation’ link is not highlighted

Here is a page where the new menu does not highlight:
    http://www.home-theater-designers.com/home-theater.html
Notice the main menu under ‘Home Solutions’ the ‘Home Theater’ link is highlighted

The other very confusing thing is that all the links on my new menu were created at the same time by copying the links from the main menu admin but some work and others don’t???

My lack of responses to this question and my other question for this template has been disappointing. Would it help if I took a screen-grab of the way that the navigation is displaying?

I need to get this fixed before I launch the site.

    Thank you

    Megicbag,

I took a look at your site, and it looks like you got the menus to highlight correctly. I am having the same problem with my own site on which I am deploying ja-rochea.
Could you provide any tips or a step-by-step?

    thanks,
    Jaume

The white bar that goes across the bottom of the footer can be fixed by putting the align left tags in front of your copyright notice….worked for me….I know you didn’t ask for this but every little helps:)

upiest: My menus are still not working. I tried mayn different ways of creating the menus. Some highlight some don’t but none highlight in both menus at the same time like the Joomlart demo!

I just noticed that on another Joomlart site that I have, the highlighting is not working correctly. I can only wonder if it is some kind of conflict with a component or module.

mfcphil: Thank you for suggesting the fix for the white bar 😀 It’s working fine now.

Another issue with this problem…..I have 6 top level main nav buttons. There are 6 header images associated with them. If I click on a sub nav button, the header image sometimes changes to a different header image.

I thought that if you assign a header image to a top level page, all of the sub pages should keep the same header image.

Anyway, as this has been an ongoing problem with VERY little Joomlart assistance, I guess my client will have to live with it.
