March 4, 2015 at 11:23 pm #204350I am using a component called Contact Enhanced for the Contact Us page. The template does not allow a module to the right of a component as currently designed. The page is edge to edge with fields and makes for a rather awkward display. How can I add a new module to the right of the Component portion of the screen layout? This is not the only problem with this issue. I also am using another component called SobiPro, and it too goes edge to edge for a very awkward layout. I must have a module on the right side to balance the page. You can see the problem by clicking on the Main Menu item called Contact Us.
Please tell me how to add a module in this particular location to the right of the component.
I have attached a screen shot of the Contact Us page which demonstrates the issue.
Thanks in advance for all your support. It does make a difference.

Leo, thank you for explaining template overrides to me. I did as you requested, and the sidebar module appeared on the Contact Us page correctly. Do I leave that menu item with the default template style so it works correctly?
Thanks,

Unfortunately, while the sidebar works correctly with the template override, the main menu system does not work correctly. Instead of the beautiful formatting of the dropdown menus, the dropdown menus go down as a vertical list. How do I get both the sidebar AND the main menu working correctly on the Contact Us page?
Please let me know if the override was simply to test whether the issue was in the template OR if I was supposed to accept the override page.

March 7, 2015 at 2:53 pm #562033Dear Pat,
T3 based on Bootstrap, I see CE loaded bootstrap too(v2), so please go to Components -> Contact Enhanced -> Options, tab Advanced set Load Bootstrap to NO then save.
Next, we will solve issue with “broken layout” submenu items by adding
.category-module ul li{clear:inherit}
This css code will override the current css code
.category-module ul li{clear:both}
by CE at(joomla/components/com_contactenhanced/assets/css/ce.css) line 186 and make the mainmenu works like it should.
CE allows you to add the sidebar inside your contact form, I think its a great feature, just go to Component -> CE -> Contacts -> Your contact name -> tab Contact Form then scroll down and select Show Sidebar to Right or Left as you want. Next you can click to tab Sidebar then add your content here 🙂
Lets try and let me know the result. Have a nice weekend 🙂

March 7, 2015 at 5:21 pm #562042Thank you, Leo, for taking time to look at this on your weekend. I made the changes as you suggested. I added the line of code in a file called ce-custom.css in the path where you suggested, where the other CSS files were located for Contact Enhanced. It did not affect the main menu dropdown feature at all.
I do have some things in the column inside Contact Enhanced, you can see it on the Contact Us page. This column is a great idea but you cannot add things like Facebook or JCalPro calendars since those are Joomla modules.
I am going to go back and look at the override setting to make sure the mainmenu is set correctly to see if that will make a difference. If you think of anything else to try, I will be looking at this all weekend. My client is also having trouble with sorting their stories in the order they want so I have to get that working by Monday. We were going to try to go live with the site this weekend, but it’s not quite ready.
Again, thank you for all your help on this matter.

March 7, 2015 at 5:43 pm #562046Dear Leo,
I just tested the override page. I set both Chamber Members page (mainmenu -> Chamber -> Chamber Members) and the Contact Enhanced page. The mainmenu displays correctly on the Chamber Members page. But Mainmenu does not work right on the Contact Us page. So the only difference is the code for Contact Enhanced, whatever that is. My idea about the settings for that page doesn’t work. So what’s next?

March 8, 2015 at 2:10 am #562073Hi, Leo. I just assumed I needed a custom.css file like I do for any template changes. I should have gone back and replaced the code when I saw it didn’t work MY way. 🙂
I appreciate all your help this weekend. You enjoy what’s left of it for yourself. I do thank you!
