November 27, 2011 at 10:28 am #171139Hi Folks, Im having some problems getting the order of modules in content-mass-bot (Teline4).
Modules appear in the content area, but do not seem to fallinto place. No matter what order I try.
The modules appear half width – but the ordewr of modules isnt clear – is it left 1,2,3 then right 1,2,3 or l1,r1,l2,r2 etc –
Please see the image – – I want the image to fall under the custom module with no space – but nothing I do allows this without disrucpting the whole content area. (Im guessing that they donst line up cos a Div has space and so isnt available.) –
But how to fix this and what is the order flow ?Also – I have already asked this but no reply – in IE, the menu for RSS, Interview, Twitter etc breaks into 2 lines – its perfect in FFox.
Any ideas please.
Regards

November 27, 2011 at 2:36 pm #426722It does seem a little complicated, but once you get your head around it, you can do cool things with it.
IN GENERAL: The modules will be placed in order from left to right and top to bottom.
So basically:1 2
3 4
5 6
EXCEPTION: Teline IV is ALWAYS looking to try and keep things looking orderly. And this is where most of the confusion comes in. To keep things neat, Teline IV will go from LEFT to RIGHT…but will stay in right until the right column is longer than the left. Once the modules in the right are dropping down past the left, it will then place another module in the left…beginning at the bottom of the last right module. (Re-read that several times until you get that “Ah HAH!” moment. It will come!)
Now…let’s look at your layout currently:
As you can see, because the 2nd module (BIRDS “WHERE’S THE MEETING”) was not the same or greater height than the first, the 3rd module was then placed below the 2nd. And then the 4th was finally able to fit below the 1st….but at the bottom of the 3rd.BOTTOM LINE: Always try to place the modules in the order you want them to appear in the MODULE LIST in the administrative panel (trying to set their ORDER inside the modules parameters can get messy)…and then adjust their contents to get the results you desire. It’s a delicate balancing act….and not one you would want to use variable height modules.
Get them set, And keep them a static size, and you’ll be good to go.
As for the second part of your question, regarding Menu for RSS, Interview, Twitter…I’m not seeing the menu. Perhaps this has been corrected?
Have fun!
John.-

November 27, 2011 at 10:09 pm #426768Hi JW, thanks for the explanation – its been driving me crazy. OK, your explanation makes sense – bit frustrating but I understand – I need to do some crafting to line it all up – pity.
Re second question – the menu problem is ok in IE8, but on IE7 (different computer) the RSS etc menu falls apart and goes on 2 lines.
Thank you.AuthorPostsViewing 3 posts - 1 through 3 (of 3 total)This topic contains 3 replies, has 2 voices, and was last updated by seelife 12 years, 11 months ago.
