Hello,
I’m still building my site and ran into a problem with module positions 8 and 9 (right below the ja-news position).Here’s an example…
http://spiritstaging.catholicspiritmedia.com
The height of ALL modules assigned to positions 8 and 9 are getting resized according to the tallest one.
Any idea how to fix…is it in the CSS?
Thanks in advance!

-Craig</blockquote>Hi Craig,
I have not explored the impact of positions 8 &9 yet.
One alternative is to place your “Special Sections” on the “Right” to balance the long list (also Special Sections) on the “Left”. And to fit nicely on the Right, you may consider changing the “section names”, For example:
annualcatholicappeal => annual catholic appeal
and not use bold. Another thing, you have two Special Sections, why don’t you call one by another name, or Special Sections 2.

June 12, 2008 at 7:34 am #253193Ope up the js folder of the template and in there you have a file called ja.scripts.js. Open it and find this:
if($('ja-botsl')) makeEqualHeight ($$('#ja-botsl .moduletable'));
Change it to this:
//if($('ja-botsl')) makeEqualHeight ($$('#ja-botsl .moduletable'));
Then you have removed the “equal height function” from the modulescgc0202 Friendcgc0202

June 12, 2008 at 7:53 am #253197Hi Craig,
If you know how to modify your CSS, you may consider the possibility of slightly reducing the width of the main div wrap that envelops the
JA News position (including the Front Page and JA News Module)
and the ones below it, Positions 8 & 9.By reducing the width of the major column on the left side of the Body, you can increase the width of the major column onthe right side of the Body — for example the main div that wraps Position 6 and all those below — Left and Right. I am not sure if doing so will automatically change the width for Left and Right.
The advantage of doing so, would be increasing the width of the Left and Right, so that many of your Special Sections headings will become “one liners” rather than “two liners” because of the length of the special sections titles.
If you decrease the width of the major Left side column (for the JA News and those under), you may have to resort back to a “two-column” for the JA News Module. The three column that you adopted is rather “busy”, and further emphasizes the jagged (not aligned) appearance of the Sections. Aesthetically, a jagged appearance is not a good layout.
More important, your titles of each article of your actual content, included in each section, are likely to be longer than the dummy titles indicated in the Demo. In effect, you will have more two-line and three-line (if not four-line) titles with the three-column JA News that you showed in your layout. Too many lines in the title of the articles is not very pleasing to look at.

Hi Menalto,
Positions 8 and 9 layout and CSS Specifications
Would it not be possible to have the “equal height function” for the side-by-side (adjacent) left (position 8) and right (position 9) modules instead? In the example given: the Photography (position 8) and the Travel tips (position 9) will have equal height. However, the next stack of side-by-side (adjacent) left (position 8) and right (position 9) will assume the taller of the two in the side-by-side (adjacent) left (position 8) and right (position 9).
If you recall, this is the specification for the side by side (adjacent) left and right modules for the Sections in the original JA News in original JA Teline.
How could this be done?
JA News layout & CSS Specifications
This will be the reverse of what was suggested above, in relation to the JA News section, is there a way to specify . Right now, there is no ‘equal height function’ for the Sections because of the way the JA News was configured — two major columns with the sections stacked on the left and on the right.
As I proposed in another thread, can this “equal height function” for the side-by-side (adjacent) left and right Section modules in the JA News.
How could this be done?
Overall Body layout
If “equal height function” is adopted for all the side-by-side (adjacent) left and right modules in the main text Body of the JA Teline II, this will completely eliminate the Jagged appearance found in the JA Teline II.
I hope the webdesigner of JA Teline II take note of this and provide a revision of the JA News accordingly.
Thanks.
