Well, all of my changes were really insignificant. I was really just renaming some of the headings in the demo to get a feel for where i wanted the material go. For instance I renamed the first two tabs in the demo without changing any of the content. When I started to rename the 3 tab, I hit save, and then it became difficult to get out of that screen and it also said but i cannot remember where something like ‘module does not exist’ i ended up deleting that tab, copying another tab and it worked ok that way.
i renamed the top ja news heading to welcome. i must have inadvertently disabled that but i cannot even see that module anymore in the module manager to re enable. i only renamed the heading ‘featured blog entry’ to welcome… since that was inside the configuration i couldn’t do a search on welcome to find it, but selected the position right and then tried another on the ja news module but could not find it.
another wierd thing was i added a custom html module and i started playing around with the style. i wanted to use module suffix to get a quote like box like in the pyrite template but didn’t know how to do that, but did try a couple of guesses like _quote. but then i just deleted that and tried another approach using the editor and styles…each time i modified it, instead of modifying that one…i would see a new module created. so that was wierd. but i just figured i would delete the ones that didn’t look the way i wanted, and did.
then i went in mod manager and disabled the content in the demo for user five.
and everything looked good. the demo items in user 5 moved up… i think i went back into mod manager and maybe changed the style of my text on the custom html module again and suddenly the controls along top were gone…no apply save close… so only way to get out was to close the entire window. i was able to login to admin using another browser, but that’s all it did … log me in and that was to a blank screen for the most part.
i emptied my cache and was able to log back in to admin, but modules have blanks. not all just some.
so i believe all of my changes were done in module manager
if no one else is having these gremlins, and since i didn’t get very far, i think i should re install and try to modify just as i did initially, and see if it happens again. i really love this template and designed my vision for the site on it, so i am reluctant to use another.
