HI, In my version of the site content in the footer area and side columns is totally missing from the mobile version.
Can you talk me through how to activate modules for the mobile layout, thanks

Hi
You show and Hide module positions from Template options > Layout > Responsive Layout > Small and Extra small Tab .
Click on module position (that are RED) to show them in that View . http://prntscr.com/aj86c7

if this does not solve the issue , kindly add a screenshot of the part the u want to show in mobile and working site url because the submitted site url does not based on JA Charity Template.

Because I am not sure which position did you mention above? But you can have a look at my screenshot and click eye button to enable the position.

Thanks for your help that worked perfectly.
I see the image is displaying incorrectly also on the mobile layouts, there seems to be a fixed height although I can’t find it in the code. In the module ja slideshow light it is set to auto. The position i masthead.

Try this solution
Add below code in custom.css file

.ja-ss-item { min-height: auto!important; }

Path : /templates/ja_charity/css/custom.css

Create the file if file is not present .
