July 29, 2009 at 2:26 pm #143091Starting next month, JA will be delivering 1 Joomla template per month. Has a date been given on when the templates will be released? Or will it be anytime during each month?
Thanks!

July 29, 2009 at 2:30 pm #312587Most probably randomly every month.
Setting a release date can sometimes hinder the quality of templates and usability.
Taking JA Sulfur for example, JA had an extensive testing period and what a beautiful template it became!
If it had a release date – things would’ve been more buggy.1 user says Thank You to hanifahmed for this useful post

September 15, 2009 at 10:31 pm #317469will JA be giving a set release date or will they just be releasing at any time during the month as they see fit?
I’m not complaining – I like to update the Joomla News site with upcoming releases for template clubs and extension clubs.
If there is no date, that’s fine but it’s always nice if there is a tentative monthly date.
Thank you in advance!

September 15, 2009 at 11:01 pm #317472Not that I would like to second guess JA but it would be sensible to look to the end of each month for the template release…any earlier would then be a bonus 😉

Well it’s getting to the point that they don’t have any other option but the end of the month, seeing as that’s the trend of their releases here lately. And again, that’s perfectly fine. They just need to announce a date and actually stick to it. Other wise they are going to get a reputation like JoomlaXTC

September 17, 2009 at 7:46 pm #317662Dear thatcomputerdude,
It would be difficult to come down to a specific date for this month’s release. Teline iii took up most of the developer’s time. and based on feedback and problem reports in the Teline iii forums, Teline iii version 1.2 might be scheduled in the coming few days.
Besides, not to mention that teline iii had been equivalent to producing 3-4 regular JA templates in terms of framework, features, new extensions etc…
Its been a brave step by JA in adopting new framework, a bit of patience and support from our side will be a moral booster for the Dev’s.

September 17, 2009 at 7:54 pm #317666With all due respect – those are excuses and not the problems of a paying customer.
If you can’t handle a project of that size because it effects your business, you have no reason doing them.
All these “extra” and “bigger” projects are only creating problems for JA so from a business stand poing, you need to step back and rethink what you want to accomplish so you can meet your deadlines, provide quality support and not suffer.
We are a 3 Million dollar company, we’d LOVE to have our hands in 50 different projects at once. However it doesn’t fit our business model of delivering the type of service we are known for, so we don’t do it.
See my point?

No, I’m glad you posted what you did because it seems to be the attitude around here.
I’m not trying to complain and moan – I’m trying to give constructive criticism from an outside point of view that wants to see JA grow AND get better.

Constructive criticism have you lost your mind? You can’t have that around here it’s fanboy central. You can be flogged for such views.
If I was them I’d just say last day of the month is release date. It personally doesn’t bother me when it’s released as long as it IS released with in the month and works.
