September 23, 2009 at 10:56 pm #144536Hi, the topic is quite long my appologies for that.
On IE8 and IE7 I’m getting this error even if I deactivate all my custom modules and plugins :
Warning: Invalid Argument.
Line: 27
URI: http://geyve.org/v2/media/system/js/mootools.jsWarning: The object does not support this property or method.
Line: 59

Problem With Showing & Hiding Modules On Specific Pages & Kategories
I have this same problem on the actual website of geyve.org with mootools. I was told that mootools were not compactiable enought (dont know if it’s true) and would cause a confliction with modules.
I select from the correspondent module config screen which sections I’m going to show or hide but that module won’t be visible even there where it should, It completely dissapears. But when I select “Select All” then the module comes back !
I’m totally confused and don’t know what to do. I hope you could help me out with that.
Thanks.

September 25, 2009 at 5:29 pm #318584This wont be a lot of help directly but there are sites on the internet detailing unofficial methods of upgrading to a newer version of mootools but theres no garuntee in what I’ve read so far that everything in Joomla will continue to function as expected.
I have considered trying to upgrade mootools but have not yet had the opportunity to try.
Joomla uses an older version 1.1 I think and the current latest version is 1.2.x although I’ve read that a mootools update is coming for V1.6
How this might affect JA teplates I do not know.

September 26, 2009 at 1:41 pm #318705I tried as it was described there but that wasn’t any good, unfortunately. There are some serious issues with the mootools in Joomla. I finally got the modules showed on the front page and the sub pages after I unistalled – reinstalled and recounfigured Ja_tabs. I had to delete all the menus apperantly that’s the only way to update the modules which were assigned to them.
I’m really shocked and also verry suprised that no JA Moderator or Administrator wouldn’t give a feedback at least have the courtesy to say at least “we don’t know yet but we are on it” in their own way even after I opened a support request in the support area..
It seems that as a 5 year signed member of JA, I have to expext that kind of treatment in the future…
Please don’t get this the wrong way. I love JA Themes thats why I invested in the future at the beginning. But this “non-response” support strategy won’t work.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I’ve said enough in other threads so I’ll refrain from comment.
Glad you got it sorted.
