I have had to create a manual read more within the article. In Joomla, the listing is set to 100 words and show the more button. What exactly am I missing?

You most likely did not specify any content for full text. There’s a similar problem that’s resolved in this thread below.

NM, looks like it needs to be on the default template.

The style of the readmore button can be modified btw, if you are on a different theme but wants the readmore button to look like the one used in the default theme.
