June 2, 2011 at 12:58 am #164718Hi,
This is my third post for today. I am only posting if I cannot find my answer in the forum, learn from the demo example or learn from the wiki site. This is a very expensive component so I am hoping some things are oversites. I am concerned about the lack of documentation.
1. I am trying to import categories. I have created (in Excel) a list in column A with the categories I need uploaded. I saved this file as type=XML spreadsheet 2003. This is not working when I upload. I get a success message, but I do not see the categories. I would attach the file here, but I cannot upload this file type. Do I need a header in the column? Do I have the right column? There is a lack of documentation on import (very concerning), which leads me to my next questions. This is the only thread I found on the exact matter and it deals with locations…I haven’t even got there yet :((.
2. I will need to import from an RSS feed. Can the import function be scheduled with a cronjob? (no documentation on this nor was a response given with a presale question…although I purchased it anyway)
3. I have created a menu item in my main menu called Job Board (this is of type = JA Job Board ยป Jajobs / Jalist). I have set the job board menu to appear on this menu item, however, when I navigate to it, I do not see the menu in the position I placed it. If I make the job board menu appear on other menu items, I can see it fine. Does the job board menu only appear when NOT in the JA Job Board component?
4. Can I link directly to the login page (job menu module)? What I really want is an area that comes up when a link “register” is clicked, and then gives the user to …”register as an employer” or “regi. as a job seeker”. So far what I’ve done is create 2 menu items (one to reg an employer and one to reg a job seeker). I have these in a hidden menu. I then created an article with the options for my visitor to choose from (each option links to the corresponding register link). Is this the best way to get this scenario? Should I just put the module in an article with modules anywhere?
I really think this is a good component and I am sure I am missing a few things (that I apologize for).
Thank you,
MC

June 2, 2011 at 7:43 am #394253Hi mcarbone,
1. Import categories/locations
=>
Please do as guide in attached file:2. Import job from RSS feed
=>
The import function can’t be scheduled with a cronjob, you must do it manually.3. JAJobBoard Menu Module
=>
This module can be shown in all menu items, not JobBoard component only. Please check your module configuration or give us your site details(URL, Admin, FTP account) by editing your post to update extra information in this thread.4. Login page with article
=>
You can include a module in an article and use Register as Employer/JobSeeker link directly.1 user says Thank You to Vinh CV for this useful post
