January 27, 2009 at 8:27 am #137544Could someone explain why the front page information is not showing up on my frontpage but is showing in the article i assigned to frontpage in the spotlight module bar at the side, under homepage —-> http://reporter.elanguest.com/
Also someone in the last post had given me the location of code that needs to be changed to be able to create space inbetween the title and the subtitle — could you explain again how this is done
He had mentioned because i saw the main template.css file ( the one perhaps i need to write into)
was a unwritable file that i needed to change the (CM0777 i think thats it’s name) file in order to alter the code.Is this correct ( not to dispute what he said !) — basically is there a simpler way
to create space. if not how can i change the title graphics.questbg Friendquestbg

January 27, 2009 at 8:36 am #288402Hi bookpeg
Before you start changing any code, you may wish to install the ‘Quick Start’ package for Telline II and all the sample data. This will give you a duplicate of the Telline II demo site.
Here you can see the demo site and what you will get to modify:
http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_teline_ii
From this, it’s much easier to edit the existing menus, sections, categories, articles and banners than to start from scratch and try and build an entire site (as you have started.)
Here is some information on installing the Quick Start package:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-teline-ii-userguide/If you do this, and you have a working model of the Telline II demo site, you will find it much easier to modify this to your own needs, and also much easier for everyone here to offer you advice!
Good Luck
Chris

January 27, 2009 at 9:09 am #288414Could you clarify…………
Installing Quickstart package is quite easy as you install the normal joomla!. Please follow these steps:
1. Download the quickstart package from JoomlArt download section
2. You have 2 options now:
* Upload the zip file to your host and extract it using cPanel or other File Manger Tools if possible.* If option above not available, you can extract the zip file in your local machine, and upload all file to your host using FTP client program.
So does this mean i cant upload the quickstart inside joomla?

January 27, 2009 at 9:17 am #288415Could you just explain how exactly i upload and install the quickstart
They say … then read after.
# You have 2 options now:
* Upload the zip file to your host and extract it using cPanel or other File Manger Tools if possible.
* If option above not available, you can extract the zip file in your local machine, and upload all file to your host using FTP client program.
I particularly don’t understand how to do this bit below
# Start installation by typing your URL to the quickstart that you have extracted (uploaded). The installation page should
be appeared as normal Joomla! installation.
Follow the instruction step by step to complete installation process. While install, please remember to install Sample Database to have all JoomlArt designed content, module and components settings.

How do i do this with cpanel this is the bit i gave up on, i’m in my cpanel in 1 min could you guide me through — thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gather i will find the Ja Teline 11 template in the quickstart zip.. so i dont need to install the
Template file separately, so i have extracted the quickstart zip in zip format out of the main zip i downloaded. What should i do from here…..
