June 12, 2013 at 8:23 pm #188195Because the client does not want the employers to be able to see resumes we did not create a package for searching them. For testing we need to see how this does look so I gave the test employer permission to search and view resumes. However they still get the permission denied regardless of their permissions.
The only way I could get this test done was to create a package for searching resumes and then have the user purchase it. What gives? Why can I give them permission for this but if fails anyway until I create the package (not an option for the live site)? Again I run into a permission problem with this extension and I have to say it is very annoying that we have this awesome CMS with advanced permissions, yet this extension flat out will not work with them and the permissions that it is setup to use don’t work!!!

If do not want Employers to be able to see resumes, you need create the subscriptions without permission ( see: http://prntscr.com/19p8u4 and disable the Resume packages like this image: http://prntscr.com/19p8og .
Hope this helps.

June 16, 2013 at 4:14 am #495987Thanks, I did what you show in the first image link but did not know I needed to create a package and disable it. How does that work then with a disabled package? I am not understanding the mechanics behind creating a package that I otherwise would not use and disable it? Does the employer then need to subscribe to that package or how does that work?

June 17, 2013 at 3:54 am #496019Hi Earthrat,
The difference between Packages, Subscriptions, and Credit are clear. Let me clarify the things here.
You use credit system to define Job posting and Resume viewing packages. It simply handles how many credits needed to post a job/view resume and how much to purchase such credits.
Credit-based subscriptions give you a flexible way to define various memberships at any price while you can change them at any time without limitations. As a result, Employers/Job Seekers have more spaces to determine the use of credits that fits them most.
Packages offer various options of price & associated privileges for employer to post jobs or search resumes database. There are three types of posting plan: standard job, premium job, and search resumes.
The standard job and premium job allow the employer post more a number of jobs as specified on posting plan, the difference between these plans are that the premium job will be highlighted on jobs list screens. The search resume plan allows employer to search resumes more a number of days as specified on the posting plan. As a Webmaster, you can easily create, edit, delete posting plans as you wish.
Job Seeker and Employer have their own subscriptions, the subscription regulates the permissions corresponding type of user has by default. After signing up, these users must update their information and to become Job Board seeker or Job Board employer. After information is updated, depend on your settings on Accounts & Permissions section of System config category the user may need to be approved by Job Board administrator.
Finally, these three packages are very different but they have relationship together too.
Regards
