June 16, 2008 at 11:49 am #129742I have started a new motorcycle accessory news site using Teline II template. A lot of work has gone in to changing the CSS and particularly the SEO. I am looking for your opinions and expertise to try to find any bugs etc.

June 16, 2008 at 1:07 pm #253896Hi Nigelto
Great Site!! Job well done. Clean, fast, easy to use. Nice logo too!
Maybe I’m biased as I’m a biker (Triumph TT600), so content as well as layout suited me!
Good luck to Spies at Donington next weekend. As for Gibernau testing the Ducati … could this be the end for Melandri? Seems he’s struggling getting to grips with the Duke.
Sorry to take subject off-topic! Great site, love it, and bookmarked.
Cheers

June 16, 2008 at 3:16 pm #253926Hmm. Content and design match this time. It looks like that template was designed for your site and that purposes.
That is usually the biggest problem, the content and design does not match.

I probably won’t nominate my site when it’s launched as I haven’t really changed the Teline II template … it was perfect for my purposes, which is why I joined and downloaded it.
Content will be great, modification to Teline II will be minimal 🙂
However, I digress again and take this topic off subject!

June 16, 2008 at 3:24 pm #253928Hmmmmmmmm, i feel something is missing on your site.

Harley Davidson, Sete Gibernau, Nolan helmets, Dianise leathers, Spies and Capirossi, Isle of Man review, luggage, Riders for Health at Donnington, British Superbikes sponsorship, Honda launch ABS system, Triumph Bonnie’s, Ewan McGregor … how can you not think bike?!!🙂 😉 🙂
Ignore the template and read the content
😎 :p 🙂
I like it and I think this one will get my vote this month … but then, it’s the content that gets my vote too!!
😀

I would have a more “bike” feel of it in some ways.

Not sure.</blockquote>Hi Menalto, essentially the site isn’t about bikes – its about bike equipment, although I don’t see the point you are trying to make as the content speaks volumes. I did try to do something different for a biker site as a lot of them look too alike for my taste and wanted something a little more technical. Mind you I can imagine that the logo doesnt look too “bike” but thats the intention and if someone comes across the site that is in that position then maybe they would struggle without looking at the content, but TBH I can’t see how that would happen. Remember this template was set up to show content without overshadowing it with bling.
Thank you all for your observations and kind comments and particularly for the nominations for site of the month, I have come over all humble :-[
There are still a few issues I have to deal with, like changing the images in the media module (how the hell that is done I cant yet fathom) and have just come across an issue with the blog layout when using Smartsef (it changes it to category list! from the menu) but I am sure with perseverance and help from the forum I can solve these small issues.
MfcPhil, I do realise about the images in the hot topic section but will let the ones on there now roll through the system and make sure I size them properly in the future – thanks 😉
Just on a side note – can I nominate the site myself for site of the month if its already been kindly nominated by others?

June 16, 2008 at 5:50 pm #253961And maby “branding” of the month. There is lot of site which haven’t got own style or strong brand. These are made like a different kind of pieces for different puzzles; no match together.
I am goeing to do litle of renovation to our site http://www.rockinmaailma.fi and I hope I can find the way do lot more powerfull brand for that site. First thing is choose a new template.

A little off topic here, but your site, its wonderfull as it is. Been in Finland a couple of times and its a great place. Its amazing to sit on the airplane and look out of the window right before landing. Alot of small lakes.nigelta Friendnigelta

June 16, 2008 at 6:19 pm #253969I’ve been working with bikes/cars as a hobby since i was 20 or so, some roadracing. Fixed up a couple of OLD Northon bikes with a friend of mine, buildt a Lucky Strike harley, but time changes and you get other hobbies to think about(family, house, anyone heard that before?). To say it short, i love bikes, drive them, the smell of gasoline and oil, to sit on a R1 speeding or on a harley shake your ass off.
