May 2, 2014 at 1:52 pm #197313I am using the latest version of Chrome and Firefox.
My problem is an intermentent one: the frontend edit icons have gone missing in Chrome and only appear intermently in Firefox. I never quite figure out what triggers the disappearence.
I have searched for hours to see where this might reside and exhausted most of those channels. I am using J 3.2.2 with a T3 kernel on my Teline IV site.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

May 4, 2014 at 10:04 pm #533503It now works in Chrome, but NOT in FireFox 29. Don’t know why. I did figure out that when the home page loads initially it doesn’t appear, but after I leave the page and and return it appears.

May 5, 2014 at 6:23 pm #533656Currently it is NOT working for either Firefox 29 or Chrome. Why this constant change?

May 6, 2014 at 7:49 am #533740@olderthanwiser I tried to check your site in other computer as well, with both Firefox 29 and Chrome, it works as normal. Please give it a try with another computer again.
If the issue remains, please let me know steps to reproduce such issue. Any screenshot would be helpful as well.

May 8, 2014 at 1:42 pm #534193As you can see there is no front editing icon listed. There are no front editing icons on any module.
I have tried from two different computers using the latest chrome and firefox.
The current time nothing works, but several days ago I went to my computer and they appeared.
I have checked the php and it shows “frontediting 1”
I am wondering if having two browsers open at the same time with two different admin (Admin/Webmaster) accounts is confusing something. I also am having problem getting my changes to articles, particularly the JA News Featured, tag to STICK.
The only odd thing I am encountering is with the database. I did a foolish thing right after installation, I saw there was an upgrade to Joomla 3.2.3 and I selected upgrade. I then got this message warning: “Database update version (3.2.3) does not match CMS version (3.2.2).”
I restored the site from the day beofre but didn’t restore the databases and I am wondering how to rectify this and whether it has anything to do with the issues I am experiencing?
Could you take a look again? I would appreciate it!

May 10, 2014 at 8:27 pm #534458I am very embarrassed to admit the simplicity of the solution. After looking online for two weeks I finally figured it out:
It is called Frontend editing BECAUSE you have to access the site from the FRONTEND! DUH! You must have your GLOBAL CONFIGURATION site settings in the “SITE OFFLINE-YES”. THEN you have to access the site url and login as a SUPERUSER and amazingly the FRONTEND EDIT BUTTONS appear.
I have had a live site that I have been trying to FRONTEND EDIT from the rear end admin screen. I had been selecting the “sitename” url link in the upper right hand corner of the admin screen so I could see the live changes. It doesn’t work this way for me. Wish the documentation was a little clearer for newbies.
My output has doubled overnight.
