August 8, 2014 at 9:33 am #200340Hi I have a JA Wall installation in my home directory. If I wanted to move it to a subfolder e.g. “Blog” or “news” what would I need to change on the config? or will be all good just to copy the files due to relative link structure? will it break all my image links?
thanks

August 8, 2014 at 9:53 am #545189Yep. Just backup software.
As recommended by Joomlart…

One of the most common questions we hear all the time, is how to move a site from a development environment to a live site, or how to move a site from one directory to another, or even from one server to another…………The key ingredient to moving our site is a secret weapon (Ok, it’s not so secret, but it is a weapon!) called Akeeba Backup. This is probably one of the most popular extensions in Joomla, and for good reason!

I’m sorry if this sounds rude but that is why I included a “How to” by Joomlart along with a pointer to the documentation by Akeeba themselves. It is all written there. Do I need to copy and paste from there to here for you?

August 8, 2014 at 11:00 am #545201OK, I will have a look… when people post to a thread like that straight up promoting a product it looks immediately like spam.
Apologies if you were just trying to help and not sell me anything.
thanks

August 8, 2014 at 11:16 am #545203If I was a spammer I doubt Joomlart would still let me on here and with over 35% of my posts getting thanks clicked I think you can rest assured I’m not.
Trotzdem, apologies accepted and good luck with the transfer.
