    I’ve done this before but somehow I’ve managed not to do it properly this time. I moved a site from a subdirectory to a root directory, same server, host etc.

    I copied the files but did give it a new database name, all changes made in configuration.php. My site isn’t loading properly. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help in advance. Happy day!

    Best regards,
    Avis

    PS I’m using JA Droid template.

    Your site could not load scripts and linked CSS files. It looks for

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="ForeverandaDay/ForeverandaDay/plugins/system/jat3/base-themes/default/css/addons.css" type="text/css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="ForeverandaDay/ForeverandaDay/plugins/system/jat3/base-themes/default/css/layout.css" type="text/css" />
    .....

    but cannot find them.

    Disable Joomla SEF, any 3rd party SEF components, check you .httpaccess file if it was modified.
    Check with Juri::base() your current URI.

    Gray,

    Thanks for a quick response and your assistance!

    I have no third party SEF components. I changed the htaccess.txt (I think it was) to .htaccess and made changes in Global Configuration to reflect this. Do I change the file name back to htaccess.txt and disable the Joomla SEF in global configuration? I changed nothing inside the file itself.

    Best regards,
    Avis

    Gray,

    I made a simple mistake. It’s solved now. I still have the old database in place and things were confusing. It’s working properly. After I deleted the old database, the site loads. (Silly me!)

    Appreciate your time.!
