August 19, 2008 at 10:35 am #266025I would sincerely reccomend that you avoid all ‘online automatic translation software’ and build your site using Joom Fish.
This is the only way to go, however, you have to have the pages translated manually.
But, it avoids any of these ‘cheap’ auto-translators!
Cheers

Hey man, for the reply, I just installed joomfish 2.beta. You know what might be causing the frontpage module to select the language not to show up?questbg Friendquestbg

August 19, 2008 at 11:13 am #266030Hi. I’m also using JoomFish beta2!
My site is here:
http://www.questbg.comNot articles are yet published in French and Russian, but I think I’ve got all the menus, polls, etc., already done.
Can you send me a URL to your site so I can take a look?
Thanks

Hey man, I realized I had to go to the back end and activate each language. Once I did that, I was able to select each one.
Thanks anywayDecember 9, 2008 at 8:11 pm #282050Hi,
How do you activate the different languages?
It shows only 1 language, depending the language set in the backend.Piet

Then select the languages you want available in the front end:

December 10, 2008 at 6:16 am #282117Since we are discussing JoomFish here, may I add a little question. On my site http://www.jonas-christy.com everything works fine, and JoomFish is great. However there is a problem with the Ja-newsflash module. If I change the lagnuage to Thai, only the first newsflash is shown in Thai, then the rest goes back to English. What could cause that? Anyone go a clue?

It can be that the other articles are not translated yet? In this case the Fish is displaying the article in the original written language.

December 10, 2008 at 7:01 am #282127Hi Peter,
I just checked again and they are all translated. They will also all appear as translations if they are the first one after changing to Thai. But then againthe next slide is in English. Any other suggestions. I really need an answer. Or maybe there is another module that does the same that I can use that does not have this problem?

December 10, 2008 at 7:35 am #282139Hi questbg,
No, I didn’t. But I will. I thought mabye it had more to do with JA-newsflash than with Joomfish. But you are right. Maybe they have had similar problems and know the answer. Thanks for the suggestion.
December 10, 2008 at 4:02 pm #282195Hi questbg,
Thanks for the quick reply
In my case the languages (dutch, french and english) were already actif in joomfish.
In fact my problem is when a member wants to submit an article:
The interface language to enter the article like:
Before you go: * Submit suitable news only
* Choose the right category.
..etc is only in the lanuage set in the ja_submit backend of the component despite the language choosen in the frontend.
Any solution?
Piet

December 10, 2008 at 4:08 pm #282196Hi Piet
Are you using JoomFish Plus? This is a Gold Member extension that gives much more flexibility over front end translations?
I have used the latest version for two weeks and very good results.
This also seems to translate all front end User menu and translation menus.
Best Regards
