Can anyone show me how to use different logotypes under different languages?
I’ve created different profiles under templates but i do not see those profiles under ftp folders. So how can I manage nex the path of logos ?

It must be posible as there are different logos for each theme on the template.

I think if you clone a theme and call in one language and then clone it again and call it another language you will make sure that you retain the same settings for both.

These are saved under template/core/themes/ and in each theme is an images folder with a logo.png. You can use different logos in each. You may have to edit the info.xml file and put the new name in there.

You can then pick the theme for each language through the profiles tab on the template.

Sorry, you also need to duplicate the ini file for the new themes to get them to show up in template manager/profiles

    Files are located in template/core/etc/profiles

Hope that helps. Do a backup first as I’ve not tested this! 😉

Thank you Swissa, your advice works and I could create multiple logo on the site without anychange on ini file.

Unicom, here you can find all steps what I did:

1- In joomla:In template profile I’ve clonned blue and black themes. I chosen appropriate menus and complete page assignments.
2- In ftp: I copied all necessary files (images, template.css etc.) from default to profiles under theme folder. (blue, black etc.) I need two language and two different logo so I’ve just changed two profiles…
3- I’ve uploaded logo.png files into img folders as I want.

    Hope it will work…

    regards

You are looking to have two logos too? Is that correct?

So you have now two default values but one for each language. Now you can change it for each language and so it will be two special profiles. One for each language but the css will be the same so they both look the same for all other parts except the logos.

You can add new logos under the new profiles. It is just like using cpanel at the front page and changing the colours. All the rest stays the same.

    Does that help?

You need an ini file so that it shows on Profiles. 🙂

Glad to hear that it works for you. The way you have done it means that you have black profile for one language and blue for the other. If you copy my way then they both have the same colours but different logos.

    Anyway Well Done

    Hello Unicom.

You do not need to duplicate the template. You only need one template. Leave it as ja_nex or we will have problems with the database and lots of files.

Please let me know exactly what you want to achieve. Do you want one site with 2 languages and with two logos or do you just want one site with two languages?

    Hi Unicom,

mainmenu-all>home> ————— and the mainmenu module is disable THIS IS WRONG. THIS MUST BE ENABLED!
    mainmenu-arabic>home_ar>Featured Articles________
    mainmenu-english>home_en>Featured Articles

It sounds like you have some problems to set up a multi language site so we need to get this right before we go on to changing the template profiles.

You can PM me your login details but I am not a Joomlart moderator or staff.

Better is if you watch this video here http://vimeo.com/28593435 with help also here http://cocoate.com/j17/multilanguage and then you learn. 😉

For the mainmenu_language you change what appears there using normal Joomla. You pick what it is:- a single article or a component or featured articles etc. I think if you have written a home page / welcome in both languages you need to choose these as single article not featured article. You will learn all of this in the video.

The help I gave to byejkua was to get two logos, one for each language.

Once you have the site set up properly we can pick the profiles for each language in the template and do the logos. Is that okay?

the mainmenu all show all modules
but mainmenu_en show only features article and if i make mainmenu_en single article it will be not a home page

    1. Home
    2. Home-page_en
    3. Home-page_ar

    Hi Unicom

There is lots to do to make a site dual language! :((

to get it to look the same in each language you must also copy the ini files for each module to the other language. Sometimes you must duplicate the module and set them for another language. I don’t know how to explain this, I just did it!.

If you PM me your admin login I will take a look and tell you what you must do if you would like or you ask for a Joomlart person to do it. If you do please set my language to English. My Arabic is zero! 😉
