    Hi everybody,

Purity 3 is one of the most awesome templates i’ve ever seen. However, it seems to has some issue with multilingual web sites.
I’ve tried many ways to make a bilingual site with it, but all of them failed.
It doesn’t show specific menu for each language, except the main menu (which is shown up for all installed language).
i also tried to build some multilingual website in the Joomla setup process (in the last step), but it didn’t work either.

Any workaround or solution for this?

    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Blue

I could fix part of the issue by removing and adding some templates.
However, i’m not able to set the Corporate template on.

    Hi Blue,
I’ve got the same problem here – trying to build a bilingual site usíng all the usual tricks.
But in Purity, the mainmenu seems to be fixed an not a proper menu, is that right?
And the language switch module doesn’t have any effect either.

So, unfortunately I can’t offer a solution to you but I can assure you there’s other poor souls around, grinding on the same problem. 🙂
In case I can fix it, I’ll let you know!

    Bye
    Chris

I was looking for an excuse to load Purity and play….. 😉

Go to template manager, pick off the template you are using i.e. Features Intro 2. Click it and it brings you to the overview screen. In the top left hand corner click the save button and save as a copy. Name it with a language flag i.e. Features Intro 2 DE. Then click on ‘Navigation’ tab, and where it says Menu pick off your language menü i.e. in this case German. Then click on the ‘Assignment’ menu and choose the pages it applies to (or pick the language off in the Current Style ‘Default’ and set to your language).

Click on the save and from the front-end pick off your language and everything should be there in the right language.

Remember that if you use another style template for other pages, you’ll need to copy the template into your language and pull the menü across.

    Hope that makes sense!

Yes! That’s the way I did it.
My mistake was that I had not activated the Language filter plugin, which is essential for the language switcher to work.

    Now it all works fine.

    Thanks!

Hi swissa, I have the same problem and I consider this a bug of Purity III, because it works in Blank. Copying the template for each language is a maintenance nightmare, maybe not for bilingual sites but for anything above that for sure.

What do the JA guys say to that problem?

    cheers

    @craude,

Did you enable Language Filter plugin and create Language Switcher module in the backend ?

Also, have you tried out our JA Multilingual component? Visit the links below to have more information on this component.
