Hi there,
I’m currently using 3 JA templates for my website, but not always work like a charm, specially when using a shopping cart, so I’m thinking about to split my website in 3 different sub folders, where each one would have an installation of Joomla and a different template. This said I have 2 questions:
- Is this a good idea?
- How do I do an interaction across the subfolders (subdomains), for example for a shopping module or events
The templates that I’m planning to use are JA Methys, JA Events and JA Mesolite II.
Also I’m planning to use Joomla 1.6, are those compatible with it?
I really appreciate any kind of help / suggestion.
Thanks,

If you split into 3 sites in3 subfolders (or subdomains) then their modules can hardly cross work with each other like in 1 site.
You have to use some kind of solution to let them sync data which I think is so complicating. You can not just simply point 3 sites to one database, that would cause conflicts in data.
So I don’t think that it’s a good idea, you’d better to use 3 templates in one like now but try to fix possible errors occurring.
Yes all those 3 templates have j1.6 versions.

Yes that’s a good idea. Keep it like that.
