Originally the tables were all in jos_

I tried to recover through phpadmin and it wouldnt work.

I then noticed that the prefixes were changed to e8rx9_users

I also checked the config.php and the dbprefix was e8rx9_

I changed that back to jos_ and then the whole site went down so I put it back to how it was.

Can anyone shed some light on this.

    Hi kanjart

The Jos_ database prefix is a characteristic of Joomla 1.5 installation and the e8rx9_ is the prefix for a joomla 1.7 database

Have you checked in your backend wich Joomla version was installed ?
