This is my first try at installing a Joomla template. Will convert my site http://www.faktapress.se from static html to Joomla 1.5. Tried to upload & install Vauxite ( ja_vauxite_for_joomla_1.5.v1.0.zip ) but got this error message “Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.” What did I do wrong?

Hi faktapress, and welcome to JoomlArt!
Very possibly you had a zip file with the XML setup file inside the zip file you were trying to install. Depending on the file you download, there may be several zip inside. If it was the quickstart, there will be the extenstions folder with all the various extentions, then the quickstart, for al full install, and the template, if you just want that.
To get the same look as the Demo, most people recommend to use the quickstart. Then you just add your own material and unpublish the ones you don’t need from the original. That way all the extentions are already installed.

Thanks Sunrise! It worked to install first the separate zip files in Extensions and second the template. The Quickstart zip file I couldn’t install though but I guess I can try to copy the contents from the Quickstart folders manually to the web server?

You are welcome. Happy that I could be of help. Regarding the quickstart zip, was the one you are trying to install called qs_j158_ja_vauxite.zip, or maybe wiht a _159_ if you have the latest. From my experience they usually install fine. If it still does not work you could also try downloading it again.

The file I tried to install was qs_j158_ja_vauxite.zip
I will try once again after downloading one more time!
