I see many people have problems with install of sample data so just thought maybe it helps, maybe not, but to show my screens and it works for me…

So I know already I have to make a make my own copy of configuration.php for the site to work……

normal screen so far…

Just pick the Default English Sample Data and make sure to click on the Sample Data set – Install Sample Data. I know this is simple for most – I just try to show what I do to get it to install well to maybe help some people….

That’s it. Make sure you then load the configuration.php up to the site, delete the installation directory and for me, every time , it works. Then check that you are running php 5.3.x and if not adjust your .htaccess to point to 5.3.x and it should be good to go.

I don’t know if this will help but as I said this works for me perfectly.
