Yes, they can be terribly frustrating, that’s for sure… especially when trying to explain something to my mother! 😀

Anyway, that update template issue has been a problem for weeks, just haven’t bothered to inquire here because I’ve been busy with other things.

Very strange…. the home page looks very messed up, but every other page is looking fine!

Do you know what you might have clicked/adjusted most recently?

Well, I re-installed the Purity 2 template & framework… as per a suggestion from another member to resolve a different issue. It did not fix that issue & now the menu is gone again :/

DUH! moment… I just went into the template to look at the default profile, and it’s set to the default values for everything. It was pointing to the “example” menu, which I don’t have published. Put it back to “Home” and the menu is back. Thanks for shaking my brain awake w/that message 🙂

The issue I was trying to fix is that I can’t update the template to the latest version. Details are in this thread: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/cant-update-purity2/

So your issue is resolved now?

Yes, the menu issue is resolved. I can’t update the template to the latest version though, I get an error.

My extension manager is telling me that there are 2 updates:

    JA Purity II template for Joomla 2.5 | Update | Template | 2.5.3 | N/A | Site | http://update.joomlart.com/service/tracking/j16/ja_purity_ii.xml
    JA T3v2 System Plugin | Update | Plugin | 2.5.6 | system | Site | http://update.joomlart.com/service/tracking/j16/plg_system_jat3.xml

I can’t install these updates. When I try to update either one, I get the same result: -1 – An error has occurred. Copy failed.

I’ve tried looking at the CDATA in the XML & have downloaded the update zip files manually. When I try to upload & install I get the same result.

As per suggestion from Stork11, I changed permissions on some folders via FTP:

<blockquote>Please change “plugins”, “templates” folders to 775</blockquote>

and I re-installed the template & framework, which broke my menu again (which I just now fixed):

<blockquote>After that, download T3 plugin here http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2144 and JA Purity II template here http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2146 to install to your site.</blockquote>

They are the same versions I’m currently running though. I then tried to update & get the same error. I checked permissions from the back-end, and everything is allowed for my super-user account.
