    Hi,

Can the backup files be deleted -> jaextmanager_data/j16/plugin/system/jat3/backup ?
Eventhough I had applied the correct file permissions and made sure they were “recursed into subdirectories” it seems that the files and folders within this directory still had the permission 777.

    Hi,

I think it’s a little more complicated than that, sure you can delete the backup files but apache (i guess you are on a Linux server) should have never provided with access up to this level where the backup files reside. Specially when ther’s already an .htaccess file that denies access to all and that’s automatically created there when you first activate JA Extension Manager.

So please let me know if something else also is not as it should because based on my few experiences some more files are not what you expected to be and i suggest that before anything else you should change all your ftp passwords etc to avoid something similar in the near feature

Do you have a file yoursite.com/jaextmanager_data/.htaccess

    1. If not – that’s your problem…as PASCM mentioned above. 🙂
Create it by opening a blank .txt file and enter

    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all

Save as .htaccess (no suffix) and upload

    2. If so, can I inquire on how you are hosted?
