Hello. Two days ago I was asked to get a new email address to one client. I looked at the site and it was hacked. So were all there other sites I have.

I have been trying to get them back up. It looks like it is going OK, I can now get the sites looking fine, from a backup done before the hacking, but I don’t get admin rights to the back end. I try changing the admin password, check the database with phpmyadmin, the name is there, the password is right, and it won’t let me in.

Any ideas what I can do. I really need some help with this one.

    Thanks.

    Hi sunrise,

The first step, can you try to re-name admin login in database again ? Then try use Lost Password Feature which is available on front-end. In addtion, a related document of Joomla developers can be helpful: http://docs.joomla.org/Security_Checklist/You_have_been_hacked_or_defaced

*It’s highly recommeded to take a backup your website before applying changes. Share your result then if possible.
