Hey kids,
This is my snarky, irreverent political blog-style website: the Hugo File.I used JA-Pyrite, All Videos Revisited, and Simple Lists.
Feel free to leave a criticism. Thanks! -hugoscotty Friendscotty

January 25, 2009 at 4:04 pm #288136I love the content.
Front page looks a little bare or plain though. Maybe put the vids in a styled div or something maybe? Or have a two column layout?
Hope if I ever hear of GW Bush again it’s in front of a war crimes tribunal!

January 26, 2009 at 5:05 am #288191Nice site, great content.
I agree with Scotty that a double column layout would suit better. Also, that front page scrolls forever! 😉

January 26, 2009 at 7:11 am #288196Hi sisterhugo1,
Great site. Good irritable, crotchety, impertinent, critical content. I agree about the double column as well. Keep up the good work.

Wonder when there come some stories about “Go get some Tin Foil Hats” and protect yourself from governmental ddoses, killer cookies on the computer and mind control via the internet……”:D:D:D I prefer to read the NY Times and others and to simply know the deal…;)

But botanically spoken, not a bad done site….

How come? The big topic on their site is that he and Chaney alledgingly caused the financial crisis with plundering the now bancrupt lenders like Lehman Brothers before their term ended… I have a typo in alledgingly, must be the smell of glue when I read the site…;)

How come?
Because I believe America’s invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq was illegal. By ‘America’s’ I mean the Bush Administration and I believe Tony Blair and his government at the time also have serious questions to answer.
Not the forum for this discussion though.

January 27, 2009 at 4:57 pm #288485This site promotes racism and btw also animal cruelty, as of the day the site was posted here. Who handles serious aspects of our life so negligently, joking about serious things in all our life must be able to handle also some joke about oneself, still no deep personal jokes like they promote on this site against good people. Thanks!
January 28, 2009 at 6:40 am #288560Many thanks for the comments and criticisms. I do like the idea of 2 columns and I will be experimenting, possibly with other JA templates.
I realize that my type of site is a little unusual, from what I see in the forums here…lots of emphasis on E-Commerce at JA. Since I paid for the membership, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to post the link here and see if I could learn something. The last thing I wanted was to disrupt anyone’s delicate sensibilities.
Meanwhile, very helpful posts all throughout the forum.

January 28, 2009 at 7:17 am #288571Hello,
I think the default font size is very small. You should increase it atleast by a pixel or two.
Other than that can you tell me what this is meant for? HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?
Also the curly brackets for read more, come only for the first 2 articles, doesnt show up on the later articles.
Please check that as well.
Other than that. Good work!
Regards,

That’s why we’re trying to do, help each other with our websites, no matter what kind of content we put on it. Of course we won’t all have the same likes and dislikes, so why be sensitive.mihirc Friendmihirc

January 28, 2009 at 1:26 pm #288644hello,
As far as the content is concerned, many of us really do not care. The fact being that you asked us HOW does the site look? Not many people ask WHAT CONTENT SHALL I HAVE? it is your site and you have the right to put what you feel is right. We as fellow programmers, website owners, administrators, can tell you, HOW YOU CAN IMPROVE A SITE …
So dont worry if there is a discussion on the articles (might as well ask the participants of this forum to leave a comment on the article) . .. just consider those changes that many like me suggested.
Regards,
Mihir C.January 28, 2009 at 1:43 pm #288654Thank you. Not sure how to change default font for all previous and future posts…let me know if you have any suggestions. Safari and IE display very small, so I would like to make the font larger.
As for “Other than that can you tell me what this is meant for? HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?
Thanks for pointing that one out. I had that in my test site and never removed it. I changed it to something more Zen. Thx mihirc.
January 28, 2009 at 1:51 pm #288656this is a pretty cool forum. Appreciate your input.

January 28, 2009 at 1:51 pm #288657Hello,
The font sizes are basically in the template.css folder. I think a font – size is kept at 65%, which is very small. Already you are using 11px size which is already small.
I think 11px is fine for a website as it is readable. And i would like to mention, the same is applicable for FF2, as well as Google Chrome.
I would not click on a link that you so small. its hardly readable.
Just constructive criticism – please dont mind.
Regards,
Mihir Chhatre. -
