February 13, 2009 at 6:28 pm #138105I’ve asked this before but the answer I got did not help much… How do I solve the navbar probkem (look at the image). when I’ve 10 pages of news in a section the navbar at the bottom extends and destroys the layout. Any idea on how to get this fixed? I need a way to navigate to the different articles…

February 13, 2009 at 8:24 pm #291218Sorry I don’t have an answer for you. Seems like it could be edited to something like 1 2 3 4 5 … 10, but I don’t know how to do this. I have seen your previous posts and have been trying to figure out an answer.
Please try the Premium Email Support if you haven’t already. I had very good response when I did that. Only took a few days to straighten out my problem. When you email them, tell them you need a way for the navigation to read 1 2 3 4 … 10 so it doesn’t break your page.
In the meantime, a work around might be to go to your css and edit the navigation. I think if you reduce the font size and maybe eliminate the boxes for the numbers it will reduce the spread of the navigation bar. Not a fix, but might help until you get an answer back.
Good luck to you!

February 13, 2009 at 8:42 pm #291221Take a look at this article and scroll down to Pagination Links Overrides.
http://developer.joomla.org/tutorials/165-understanding-output-overrides-in-joomla.html
It explains how to edit that section.

February 13, 2009 at 9:39 pm #291231Phill this is fabulous! I am bookmarking that page!
In the meantime…. would you consider looking at this post http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/editor-overflow-not-a-true-js-dropline/
This person is trying to add the dropline menu to their site. I know that there are files from another template that would need to be included to the ja_menus folder, and a few others that need to be modified.
I have come close, but no luck yet. I was able to get the dropline menu into the template I am playing with, but it is verticle and not doing what it is supposed to. I have missed some important function that I don’t know about I am sure. I am NOT a PHP guru.
I am sure this isn’t as difficult as I am finding it to be and I am betting you have an answer for this person.
I hope you will consider taking a look at it.
Thanks!
P.S. Sorry to go off topic with this.

February 14, 2009 at 2:29 am #291276Thanks . Your idea was good and I had already looked at the css options but could not get it done. But your note to Phil open a new door and I’ve fixed it for now – my son helped me with the code… – because I just commented out the numbers… You still can navigate the pages but not go to a specific number. It works, anyway. thanks again for pointing out suggestions and for getting Phil in the loop.

Fabulous! I am glad you got it working. Learned a few new things myself. 😀
