I concur with my friend, pavit – JA BLAZE is certainly a great template .

Might you be able to tell us a bit more, however, about the idea/purpose/theme of the site you are wanting to develop for your kids? How/What would they be using it for?

well, I’m planing to make a personal website for them. actually its all about them. so i need a template with a slideshow,a picture gallery and a blog

Well, you just described pretty much every template JoomlArt has to offer 😎

My personal recommendation would be to take a little time to browse through the JOOMALRT TEMPLATE SHOWCASE and see which templates catch your eye. Check out the live demo for the templates you like and see which design/look + features you feel best fit your idea/vision.

i have been trough the showcase and i preferred the JA Mero, but in that template how can i get the featured articles in main page like ja travel has and the gallery cant open. can you please help on this?

That element is nothing more than a Custom HTML module with an image – for demo purposes only.

See post #5 within the JA"> for more info/detail.

You can certainly add your own “gallery” component to your site – and there are a number of free such extensions listed within the Joomla Extension Directory.
