    Hi,

I’ve just added a thumbnail display mambot, Multithumb, which creates thumbnails of images and allows the full image to be displayed in a lightbox (actually slimbox).

You can see it working here:
    http://www.contemporarydance.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=60&Itemid=66

Unfortunately when clicking on a thumbnail the full size image in the lightbox displays with the menu over it. I haven’t been able to track down the problem but assume it’s a z-index clash. Have you any suggestions?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi timhomewood !
Have you solved the problem ? I have checked your site , and click on thumb to display lightbox but couldn’t re-produce the problem.

sadly i haven’t. the problem only happens with the images that are next to the main image on the page, not the one further down the page that you clicked on. because these images are higher and tend to be clicked on at the top of the page they cover the menu, or should.

I can reduce the height of the images but would rather solve the problem permanently.

it just the z-index setting. its a simple fix. go into your lightbox css file and find the references for the z-index and start playing with the values. I usually start with the extreme values like 999. Make sure you save a back up of the original css file so you can always restore to your starting point.

    problem solved.

    added z-index=1000 to slimbox styles #lbOverlay #lbCenter, #lbBottomContainer.

tip of the hat to Google Chrome. For the first time in a long time i downloaded some software that was a quick install and that also immediately started making things happen faster for me. The inspect element in right click menu worked much more smoothly than the various plugins in Firefox, some of which never worked at all in my version of FF.
