    Hello ,

I am new to Joomla and this is my first website. I have installed JA Tiris and everything seems to work fine till I started on Kunena.

When I click on the link Kunena on my home page, this is the response I get with
    https://www.gaiassecrets.com/?Itemid=559
    404 – Component not found
You may not be able to visit this page because of:

    an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
a search engine that has an out-of-date listing for this site
    a mistyped address
you have no access to this page
The requested resource was not found.
An error has occurred while processing your request.
Please try one of the following pages:

    Home Page
If difficulties persist, please contact the System Administrator of this site and report the error below..

I have searched through out the forum here and on the web but am not able to get a clear understanding as to the cause of this error.
I understand this is due to access level and user permission. I have created a new user and also changed the access level but nothing seems to work.
Can I get some help please, it will really be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Ok some how I have corrected the issue. I got a reply regarding permissions, and after checking through various sites, I tried editing the .htaccess and the configuration.php files.
also created a new user, cleared catch and updated the permissions in joomla admin.
I am now able to visit the forum.
what really worked I am not sure, so if someone can clear the issue so I understand what really worked, I would highly appreciated it.
Please understand i am a newbies, so may be I am asking something which is obvious, can be a silly and ignorant question, but thats how I will learn, so will appreciate any help given.

    Thank you

It could have been any of the steps you carried out that did it. You should rarely have to edit configuration.php though as that is amlost always correctly populated during the install.

Glad you managed to fix it. Good luck with your first site.

    Thank you Phil,
    I really appreciate your reply.
Its funny but again its not going through. I think Its a user issue and I am somewhere going wrong, but can’t figure it out. I will keep trying.
    Thank you once again.

By chance is this a new domain you have purchased in the last day?

    Oh no,

I have had this domain for quite some time, but I have been learning web-development, hence have not started working on the site till now. I decided to go with CMS as I thought It will be the fastest way.

I have again managed to work it out, sorry I should have updated the post. It was an issue with the link option in the menu manager, this last time, the link ID was blank earlier, and then when I updated the menu parameters etc, and it seems to be working.

I am still working on the site, but u can check it out

Thanks once again, its working now, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. LOL:D
