I’m picking up a Joomla website build from a designer who handed over the project to me. So, I’m picking it up midstream.

My question is about the JA-Uvite template. On the frontpage, both JA-News module pieces are missing. Can you tell me if I need to join the extension club to get the JA-News components working on the site?

This demo template shows previews of articles with images. http://template15.joomlart.com/ja_uvite/

It’s possible that the components and modules were deleted? Or is it that the template download doesn’t include these pieces.

    Please advise.

    Dear rsn8,

Please download the JA Uvite from Here. Unzip and you can see 3 folders, check the extensions folder to find the modules used in the demo site. I dont think you need to join JAEC for it. Please confirm and let us know of further problems if any.

Thanks, Arvind. You are correct, the extensions are in there; and the original designer installed the site using the quick install folder. I found the Uvite userguide. Unfortunately, there is no sample data and I am unable to get the JA-NEWS and JA-NEWS Frontpage modules to work correctly. I tried to follow the userguide but am not getting results.

    Please assist.

I’ve managed to get the JA-NEWS Frontpage module working. But now I’m struggling with JA-News and the smaller category blocks.

This tutorial is somewhat unclear in how the relationships are drawn and pulled from the articles.

    Dear rsn8,

Easiest way to set up site at par with the demo site, is by installing the quickstart (with demo content) on your localhost and then look at the backend of each module and try to replicate the settings. It works in almost all the cases. Give it a try. Thats what i do, if i am not using the quickstart to develop my site.

Thanks Arvind. I normally do Quickstart but since I jumped in midstream, a lot of the site is already built. I could always do a secondary install and open a new database, but after going through the userguide a couple times, things started falling into place.

I’ve run into a new problem with the JA-News modules. My content is in K2; so I need to change the modules to pull from K2 category/items instead of joomla section/category articles. I currently have a project open on joomlancers.
