December 10, 2013 at 2:49 am #192865Hi all
I’m in need of advice on how to accomplish something. I need to have a welcome video play on site load, then stop without looping, redirect to the home page of the site. I can do all that but my problem comes when anyone reloads the site from the root url. That is if you load my site from http://www.monsoftwebdesign.net/ttp_ob/ I need a once only view of the welcome video, which after time redirects to the home page of the site.
(pls note I have NOT tried to place the video on the site as yet)
This is so once on the site proper using the home menu item or breadcrumb will take you to the current site BUT not back to the welcome video.
I was thinking of having a default menu item other than “home” (Welcome) redirect the domain to the video, then whenever “home” is used it bypasses the welcome video, however that leaves an additional menu item (welcome) showing.
Is there a way to use cookies to show the welcome video once only on main home page and if returned to it during session not display the video container and video on second attempt?
I don’t wish to make a portal site then redirect, I am hoping to use the ja slideshow in video mode to pull the welcome video from youtube.
While I’m sure there are many ways to accomplish this, I’d like developers advice on the best way to achieve while utilising the features built into JA Obelisk
Blessings Shannon

December 11, 2013 at 4:27 pm #515120here is step to step guide
1) upload ur flash intro HTML file (index.html default) where index.php is there in ur server using ftp client
( keep divert of flash intro to http://www.yoursite.com/index.php/home)
if going with the description belowADMINISTRATOR backend
1) go to global setting and click yes for friendly url ( this will make ur site look http://www.yoursite.com/index.php/home insted of http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?=-adfgjkldhgklsdf
2) rename HOME button with INTRO under Main Menu
3) Create New Button Name it HOME ( button type should be Article–>Front Page Blog as it was before for HOME Button)
4) Now Edit INTRO Button and make it visible to Special instead of publicOr you can download this module here and work with your site but it only support J2.5
