When you create a new article with image and text and set show on Front Page
and the text is too short, ex.. This is the new story.

then it’s not visible on front page !
but if you open the article you can see the text.

if the article text is longer then is ok on the front page.

What can cause this?

Always try to make sure there is enough text to wrap around the image, then add the “read more” code after that.

set max character yes, but if you have less ?? Why should that not show up?

This was discussed already in a previous thread. I do not know scripting but the solution that was reported — as suggested in this post by nigelta — is to add more text until you exceed the maximum characters you have set.

I came across the same problem when others reported this, and it worked.

Hi VTXRider,

Did you try it, if it works?

Check my previous response. See if adding more text will do the job, and the text will appear. It worked when several people observed this.

As to why, not sure, but it may be in the scripting. I am speculating but it is possible that it may have been scripted to require that you must exceed the maximum characters for it to work.

One aesthetic reason that I could think of is to have more even spacing used by the text from different articles.

Just think of it this way (but still an speculation):

Article 1 (Title): A trip to the zoo
(Text) This is fun, let is do it more often. I have never had that much excitement in my life before. How did you like those zebras. And the snakes. The pandas were remarkable. And I have never seen a koala before. I am like a child again Thanks for taking me here.

Article 2 (Title): A day in the homeless shelter
(Text) What a boring day!Why did you drag me here.

Article 2 (Title): A movie review
(Text) It sucks!

Aesthetically, if those were the lengths of the actual text in the “Front Page”, it will not look nice — from a aesthetic point of view..

It will look better if more or less alll the articles have about the same number of characters showing. That was how old printed paper are done — fill up the alloted space — not much more, not much less.

If the program was scripted as such, then it is a good script.
