Google is toay releasing its OWN browser called Chrome.

You can read more about it here

It should become very popular so hopefully all the JA templates ( especially the popular ones ) can run perfectly under Chrome.:)

Unfortunately, the beta won’t be available on Mac for some time. So, if one of you kind Windows people could download a copy and take a look at a few JA sites to make sure!!!

    Cheers

Yes..I have downloaded Chrome and most of the JA templates seem to just fine. No problems

Initial impression is they seem to load faster but lets wait and see.

Google is starting to rule the world !

First of all, the Chrome is still in beta version, it would be a waste of time for Joomla or Joomlart template to attempt to make revisions in their script at this stage, to accommodate yet another browser, at such an early stage.

This is the same problem as new users or those of us with very limited background in scripting who use beta versions of Joomlart templates for our “actual” sites. Then, seek technical help when the beta version does not work correctly.

Joomlart or any company has to be criticized strongly for releasing beta versions of their template to the “masses”. But, at the same time, we share the responsibility when we, as customers, use beta versions of templates for what is called production site, instead of development site.

If you fear the stranglehold of Microsoft, you should be more concerned about Google

As a company, Google ranks high for not respecting privacy and has no respect for copyright laws. What is most ironic is that they consider it their right to invade anyones privacy, but they were not too happy when someone published information about their executive officers.

If you have been following the development of Google sponsored mobile computing software, it was supposed to be an “open source” initiative but instead of following the tenets of open source software development, the “latest” was released only to a “select number of developers”, rather than the standard open source policy to release the code to everyone — so that everyone who wants to participate in revising the code may participate in sharing their codes.

And, according to reports, if you criticize Google, whether valid or not, your site will be “blacklisted” and you will be cut off from their advertisement affiliate program.

Its great if you are a regular user of Google Apps – GMail, Docs etc .

Also Google Android for mobile phones will be released soon ( HTC Dream )

So for Google users like me …its very cool !

Chrome has crashed a few times since it was installed 2 days ago.

But it recovers rapidly and goes back to the last page viewed.

Just waiting for the Chrome extensions to be available …!

Google Chrome is based on Safari and Firefox, so I do not see why there should be any issues with our templates.

Be wary, a few reports of major security holes have been announced – remember it’s still beta.
