April 8, 2014 at 10:28 pm #196583Hi,
I would like to know if I can get help to have a module custom made for web site: http://www.bitspec.com. We have Kunena, Jomsocial and LMS and I would like one new module made that would provide a summary per user similar to a scoring point system. If you are not working to develop this kind of projects, can you recommend another org. Please let me know. Thank you

April 9, 2014 at 4:52 pm #530145Hi Tom,
That is an option but why Joomlart does not provide this service since we use its templates and modules. Wouldn’t be easier from a client perspective? thank you

JoomlArt creates templates and extensions, yes.
However, creating custom modules at individual requests is beyond the scope of the services JoomlArt and/or the JA Supprt Team provides . . . hence my recommendation to you to seek assistance from a freelance marketplace such as Joomlancers.
Hope you understand . . . Thanks.

April 9, 2014 at 6:31 pm #530165Tom, from a client perspective, I do not really understand why Joomlart would not create customized modules etc. It would be one service that most likely many companies would like to see.
Also, from a client perspective, Joomlart could set-up another service which would be web site maintenance. It can be a certain monthly fee set-up in such way that web sites would work smoothly at all times.
Also, another service would be documentation on line and even certification on Joomlart products.🙂

April 10, 2014 at 10:41 am #530321Hi,
We at JA focus primarily on rolling out new template per month, while maintaining all the older one’s besides the extensions we have.
We do not undertake custom projects and as Tom said its much cheaper for you to get those done from freelancers. If we are to start providing those services, we would lose our focus from the core business model.
Regards
Arvind

April 10, 2014 at 12:27 pm #530338Hello, I am not sure that this is what it would mean as “lose” focus” since clients like me are looking for complete array of services since that would drive the maintenance costs down.
Aside, it would also encourage the development of other solutions that are not standards since each client would like to be different. The reason Joomla is still used is due to its diversity of combinations and arrays.
I see that your company is always looking for Global Moderators who are not paid…solution..teach and train them and then assign them to take care of clients websites that have been developed on your T3 platform and has your modules…it is just a normal business practice. Moreover, it keep the clients happy and ensured of a service quality.
Change the business model if it does not work.:) for clients! Remember that your focus are the happy clients! 🙂Arvin, the certification program can be developed by JA and done through us (as an example BITSPEC http://www.bitspec.com certifies people in Lean Six Sigma). We have LMS on Joomla etc.
That would remove the impartiality from the entire process of certification. Also, once people become certified to manage JA clients etc. they can do the up-dates, up-grades etc. for all clients. It would ensure a quality process since all clients will be happier since the stress on finding qualified and knowledgeable people will be removed. It would also show a responsible “behavior” from JA since clients will be taken care off by providing the best service. Again, service implies both front which are templates that you are developing and support -that is a continuous relationship through a certification process…everybody wins as we say in B2B:)
By knowing the issues that the web developers will being faced with maintaining the web sites, data can be used upfront to the designing stage therefore the entire process can be more streamlined.dgrossu Frienddgrossu

April 10, 2014 at 1:26 pm #530349It will also allow your current customer service to be split between issues that come from implementation/development vs. issues encountered on up-dating and maintaining the web site under service agreements.
Obviously, costs will be more controllable from both ends while more clients will prefer to be safe since we depend on web sites to function 24/7.dgrossu Frienddgrossu

April 10, 2014 at 7:58 pm #530412As it happened:), BITSPEC has been recognized by Leadership Excellence 500 in 2014 and voted on the 8th place under the International Company category. The person who helped us to develop the web site was Pavit (Puntogenius) therefore I know that you have excellent knowledge and yet not all companies can benefit because the costs to maintain web sites is still high although knowledge that exist should be shared. April 25, 2014 at 12:03 pm #532418On the same idea of customized web sites, I need to have the Search being performed across all modules etc. At this time each the search can only be done per module therefore from a customer perspective is not efficient. Please let me know if this should be done as a project too:)…thank you
