I have been modifying this template and the front page now looks the way I have been asked to make it look, however this is only for the front page.

For many of the other pages, I still need the banner area accross the top (under the menu) but half the height it is on the front page, and to the right of it where you can see I have placed 2 modules, I need to only have one, so the front page as is is fine, but the next and several other pages will have a half the ehigh baner and single module to right.

I assumed, rather stupidly it would seem, that if I simply embed the code for inserting a module into the relevant layout page, unless something is published into that module it would simply be dormant, but of course since I am using divs with stylesheets, it uses the stylesheet anyway, but displays nothing.

Can you help me work out how I am to do this.

Im not a complete newbie here, but somethings I have never had to try before, and I suspect this is something easy to do.

The top image is the home page as it should be, the lower image is what I need the alternative pages to look like.

the home page is the only page with the double height banner, then many other pages have the half height and the rest have no banner at all.
