It’s working well. Normally a good idea to cron job backups every 12 hours. A site like this I’d probably do every 6.

Database error? Looked like someone was malicious to me — less there really is a moderator named ” I Am Dung”.

Do a back up before the peak hours and after the peak hours, cos quite often I’ve been on the site for maybe 5 or 6 hours in a day while at work, and theres been maybe 10 posts all day!!!!!

Or yeah, every 12 hours atleast.

So is this why we haven’t seen the August template? 6 more days to get it finished!

August template was Mona I believe.

Mona was the 2nd July template running a little late.

They’ve mislabelled the demos. They only have 1 template for June, and have already labelled the August one.

    Phil and hanifahmed,

Just curious, if this is the case, indeed, why don’t they just correct it? It seems so many are speculating about it, and you get repeated responses. Surely some members who responded to the speculation are part of the inner circle that discusses issues about Joomlart.

Cornelio – I couldn’t agree with you more! I scratch my head at how things run around here sometimes.

I agree with you! If I had the chance to run JA I would make a few changes here and there for the better myself. I spend quite a lot of time some days trouncing the forums and would go about making the changes needed! (they may be small – but who cares!)

    thatcomputerdude and hanifahmed,

Keep on sharing your observations and ideas that will improve things. Eventually, someone may listen. A

Although it is possible also that many will not like you simply for “rocking the boat”. When I was in college, I was considered crazy for some of the ideas I forwarded. There were actually a number of my professors and others in the university who did not like me and members of our group for our efforts to implement some of those crazy ideas. Imagine my putting faith on 13 college sophomores (including the Overall Coordinator) to initiate a national project, and for them to accomplish this in two months from plannning to fund raising to actual one week fair — and going to school at the same time. No financial support coming from the University, the 13 college sophomores must raise all the funds, and requisition all the resources, including inviting and providing the board and lodging for participants coming from all over the country). That was why everyone thought we were crazy and too cocky. We went ahead with those crazy projects anyway, even if they think those projects would fail. In fact, not satisfied with simple derision, some of our detractors being powerful in the University (one was a Director and another was our own Department Chairman) used their offices to block our projects. Against all odds, and in spite of the efforts to derail them, the projects came to fruition anyway — one of them is national in scope. I was glad to learn that it is still ongoing many years after the pioneers have already left the university.

The sweetest validation of our efforts was the conversion of our former Chairman, who was most against the national project. He did not allow us to use the facilities of our Department to stage our projects and he barred some other faculty members to help us. The irony of it was that one of the goals of the national project was to promote our Department and the University.

When I left the Philippines, many years later, our former Department Chairman became the Secretary of the National Science and Technology of the Philippines. His Department became an official sponsor of the project (to this day it remains a student run national project). And, during his tenure, he actually allocated NST funds to support the project.

So don’t give up. Even the smallest of things may make a great difference. The best story I heard about crazy ideas was Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People”. It is a very good play, and I encourage you to read the book, in case you have not had a chance to do it yet. It is a staple in drama playhouse, I think there was even a Broadway presentation, as well as number of movie adaptations.
