Hi, everyone,
This looks like a great place for website templates, and since I’ve been a graphic designer for a while and am relatively efficient at web design, many of these templates would be great to use for clients. Only problem is I have never used Joomla before. So I guess my question is, what’s the learning curve like with this and is it really worth the trouble? I’ve been successful with wordpress and dreamweaver templates up until now.
What’s the main thing that Joomla offers that the others don’t and are there any good tutorials anyone can recommend for getting efficient at it?
Thanks

Any suggestions on how to find out if there is a simple integration of forms for database lead capture?
Sorry, I didn’t want to spend 3 hours looking only to discover I would need another complete system that “kind of integrates”.
The problem with my current site, is I haven’t found a customizable template for inserting or easily designable capture form for multiple registrations. Any suggestions on where to start? This is the reason I am looking into alternatives at this point. Just not happy with what I have found thus far..Thanks for your help in advance

You will find all of the free and commercial and free/commercial extensions that Joomla! has to offer – but spend some time looking through the directory and don’t always expect lead capture forms to be under LEAD CAPTURE for example, they might be under FORMS, clients, or whatever – a classification system is only as good as the people who classify
And if you want to go from knowing that Joomla exists to how to use Joomla, then go to Lynda.com and watch their Joomla essential training. It will take a few hours if your are a novice – so have a full day spare – or a couple of days Pay $20-30 to join Lynda.com for the month and after you’ve finished learning Joomla, learn more about photoshop, illustrator, flash, databases or whatever. It will be money well spent if you want to go from knowing nothing to being able to use Joomla competently in just a few hours. .
