March 9, 2009 at 9:42 pm #138939I everybody, I need to install that template in local (MAMP) to be synchronize to my live server after.
My goal is to show a complete copy on my live server (with minor changes) this week. Any caveat or hints that I should know before…
I can’t miss that deadline,,, REALLY IMPORTANT!
As expected, I want to install in the last version of Joomla (1.5.9) with the last version of VirtueMart (1.1.3), do you see any issues?
—> little bit scared at the issues on this forum ( Bug Report for VM 1.1) that have stop the download of this template. Everything is fix now
• Larix will support thousand of items in a professional solid way?
• Larix is the right choice for a professional looking store (as I say, more than a thousand products)?jsliao Friendjsliao

March 11, 2009 at 7:05 pm #295463Well actually it’s pretty easy to do…
just unzip the quickstart folder
upload all files to your desired location on your webserver
and after that just install like you would with any fresh joomla install…if you uploaded your files to http://www.yourserver.com-root
then you should go to yourserver.com and you’ll be presented with the same installation as always.
do not forget to check : install sample data…and there you go

March 12, 2009 at 3:33 am #295521What part you don’t understand?
VirtueMart is at 1.1.3, I was asking if it was a good plan to upgrade to 1.1.3 because in the quick start install of this template VM is at 1.1.2.
I’m not sure if it’s easy and a good idea to upgrade virtueMart to the last version?

March 12, 2009 at 4:24 am #295530ok so you were asking if it is advisable to upgrade to 1.1.3… 😛
sorry for asking cos that sentence didnt make any sense to me…
well anyway, upgrading is definately good but I can’t tell you if it will cause any bugs.

March 12, 2009 at 12:34 pm #295592No problem, I edit my poorly structured and syntax challenged babble!
When you French, it’s for life!
🙂I ask VirtueMart if it was easy to upgrade, but so far, no answer….
I have to digg deeper to know How it’s done…

March 12, 2009 at 12:45 pm #295595You can use the auto updater in virtuemart
under VirtueMart administration area click on “Check for Updates” from the “Admin” menu, then click the “Check now!” button.
Or you can upload a patch manually from the “Upload a Patch” Tab.
Keep in mind that for virtuemart support you are best of on the viruemark site and forum:

March 14, 2009 at 8:35 pm #295986I synchronize larix from my Mamp local server with VirtueMart update manually to 1.1.3, no problems ….
Thanks everybody!
Auto updater didn’t work for me for VirtueMart…. I use Yummy FTP for Mac.
at : http://www.grafcomm.ca/joomlagraf/larix/
For mac user here, I use Yummy ftp for all my synchronizing business, fantastic tool, work perfect for updating Joomla or VirtueMart, save lot of time. I’m sure Windows user have the equivalent…
Now I go with a first round of design changes plus Joomfish and other modules….
Excited to start, keep in touch!
