    Hello. I have a web site with joomla 1.5.26 and NEX template installed. News pro module, as configured according to instructions, display news in vertical orientation.

    I have several sections and three subcategories for each one. I needed to group news by subcategories and get them displayed horizontally using News pro (in the template version for joomla 1.5). I suceed by selecting “Teline IV” as profile selection and “default” as theme selection in JA News Pro Module configuration (check attached pic).

    Please see results online in the url http://www.periodicolaguajira.com

    The problem is that my hosting company let me know I have to upgrade my web since joomla 1.5 will not be supported anymore by them, so I have to migrate joomla to 2.5.x version. I already started the process: installed joomla 2.5, JA nex T3 template and the most up-to date modules for that template.

    Everything works fine, except JA news Pro Module 2.5.9, which only displays news columns in vertical orientation. I really need it to display the groups of subcategories in horizontal orientation, just like it does currently in the NEX page for joomla 1.5. I used the same configuration, but it does not work in this new template version. Please check how the same web looks with the new joomla 2.5 NEX template:

    If they are using the same module (JA NEWS PRO) and the same configuration, why it behaves different in joomla 1.5 and joomla 2.5?…could you please help me to achieve JA NEWS PRO display the subgroups of news horizontally, just it does in old joomla?

    Thanks in advance

    @hcardenas,

    In order to have JA News Pro module displayed article in group horizontally, please check this userguide. Those are steps how we configure, you should apply the same.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Nazario. I did read that userguide, and applied the config recommended there.

    But that example (2.2 example), if you look into the back-end settings, is without grouping by subcategories. In my case, I need JA NEWS PRO grouped by subcategories, which is one of the options of the module. The problem is that when I select that option, the module does not display it horizontally.

    As I explained, in the module for the template for joomla 1.5, I sorted it out by configurating the module according the pic I attached in my first post, but it does not work with the template for joomla 2.5. Please look into the admin area using the credentials I sent you, and you will see that the both (web joomla 1.5 and joomla 2.5) are using the same config for the module. It displays horizontally in joomla 1.5 but it does not in joomla 2.5.

    Nazario, I want to add something:

    Trying to trouble shoot this issue, I installed Teline IV (joomla 2.5), assigned it as default template and assigned JA News Pro to ja-news-1 position (as indicated in teline IV), and it displays horizontally with no poblems.

    So, I can guess JA News Po module is not the problem…it’s something related to masscol-1 position for Nex template, or any CSS fom Teline Iv that is missing in Nex and causes wrong behavior of that module in NEX template.

    Could you please check?

    @hcardenas,

    Because every JA template has its own style, so that this JA News Pro module will use different layout / profile settings. In JA Nex template, you should select “Nex” for the profile, it will look the same like our demo site. Here are configurations in details of these 2 templates, you can take a look to see the difference:

    – JA Teline IV template:

    – JA Nex template:

    2. newspro-1

    Thanks again, Nazario, but I fear I have not been able to explain what my problem is. I’ll try to explain again without technical details:

    1) I have used NEX template for joomla 1.5. As you can see in online version of my page (http://www.periodicolaguajira.com), it displays horizontally the subgroup of categories I have. in order to achive that, I configured News pro module as if it were Teline IV template (although if was NEX).

    2) I need to migrate that web to NEX template for Joomla 2.5.X. Although I’m using the same configuration I used for joomla 1.5 template, it does not displays the subgroup of categories horizontally, but vertically. Please check next url (http://www.periodicolaguajira.com/j2). I gave a different color to every subcategory in order to appreciate clearly the way they are being displayed (in this case, vertically).

    question: is there any way I can achieve NEX for joomla 2.5 displays the subgroups of categories horizontally, as NEX for joomla 1.5 does?

    is there somebody from Joomlart willing to support their clients, or at least willing to ask a simple question to know what should I do?

    Hi,

    Let me try, can you please provide me with a screen shot of what you need to achieve in Joomla 2.5.x that’s working properly on your Joomla 1.5.x ( i tried on your live site but i didn’t get what you need to do that’s not the same on your new site).

    Thanks Pascm, but since support was being a little bit slow, I prefered to disgroup categories and change the order of them in order to get them displayed in the way I wanted (consecutive categories displayed next to the other, not below the other).

    Not the best for organization of backend (in fact, it looks like a mess for persons that insert content in the page), but at least for end user it looks like organized in a more logical way.

    Regards,
