I’m in the process of installing JA Social on my site, but I can’t get the Joomla Articles Newsflash module to display properly. I can get it to display the Module Title and the Article Title, but not the article contents. (Actually the article contents are all I want to display.) On this same site, the same module displays properly on another template.
I’ve never had this happen on any other template. Maybe it’s T3 related?

November 1, 2012 at 4:24 am #471636Hello chukar,
Can you PM me with your site information (your site URL, your site admin account) and your FTP account? So I can diagnose this problem.
BTW, please include this forum thread URL in your PM, so I can follow it.
Regards.

November 6, 2012 at 4:01 am #472003I did PM the information you requested. Any progress?
I’m getting a sense that T3 framework doesn’t support the Newsflash module, which I use in most sites. And here I bought a year’s membership and am stuck?

Hello chukar,I checked and saw that your site was using “rt_afterburner_j16” template. It isn’t a JoomlArt product. Please contact template provider for checking this.
And JA Social doesn’t have “newsflash” position in it, that’s why Newsflash module doesn’t displayed on this.
Regards.

Thanks for nothing. The site does have afterburner as the template for most pages, but you can see the JA Social template on this page, where I am trying it out. http://www.way2age.com/15-ways/conquer-your-addictions
The newsflash should display in the header, as it does on the home page. http://www.way2age.com/
Are you trying to tell me that JA Social is not capable of displaying the standard Joomla core Newsflash module correctly?
Maybe I deserve a refund.

Hello chukar,“newsflash” position is different from “NewsFlash” module. You can add new position in JA template in “Default” layout of “Layouts” tab in Template Manager.
Today I can’t log in into your admin site to help you this case. You can try my above guide.
Regards.
November 7, 2012 at 3:51 pm #472180From all of this, I can only conclude that you are in denial about the fact that the Newsflash module does not work properly on JA Social, and perhaps this is a T3 issue.
The module title will appear, and/or the article title will appear in the assigned position, but the article contents will not appear. I have to have Newsflash module, and if you can’t help me, I’ll have to move on to a different template, though I’d rather not, as I like JA Social except for this one small but, to me, major issue.

Hello chukar,I would like to help you but I can’t log in into your admin site as I told you yesterday. I need to try to debug in “Layouts” tab of Template Manager.
If possible, would you mind getting me a few screenshots with problem highlighted? It’ll help me diagnose problem quicker.
Regards.

November 8, 2012 at 6:55 am #472245For your FTP, it only contains “.ftpquota” file, no more site code files on it. And for admin site, when I logged in with user name and password you had provided me, it said “Unable to connect to LDAP server”. Please re-check them.
Regards.
